Once upon a time,

It was the only beautiful day of the week! The sun managed to stay out the whole day for Lacey and Curtis's Wedding. The whole day was incredible. The wedding took place at my sisters 100 acre farm. Lacey has always been an outdoor girl, always up early mucking out stalls, feeding the cows and horses in her gum boots and wrangler jeans. Yes, Wrangler, because they last longer when riding horses apparently. The actual ceremony took place in the recently baled hay field, next to the lagoon and island in the center of the property. When Lacey was old enough to ride, her Dad gave her an older horse t o keep for herself, that horse was named Rocky. Lacey loved that horse, and looked after him for the next fifteen years. Rocky was a very old horse when he passed on, (25 years). Rocky waded into the lagoon to cool down, and collapsed in the lagoon. Lacey was the one that found him, and sought her moms help. Denise knew he was already gone, but called the vet. In the meantime, Lacey and Denise tried to drag him out of the Lagoon, which of course they couldn't. Rocky is buried on the hill on the island, that is behind Lacey and Curtis. That is what Lacey wanted.
It was absolutely the most beautiful, and emotional wedding I have ever been at!
The guests were taken to the field by two beautiful Horse drawn carriages. When the guests alighted from the carriages they were greeted by a Fiddler and Guitar player, playing in the field, and handed a bottle of water, then seated. It was so incredible! Relaxing, and real! The Bridal party arrived by White Carriage, except the Bride! Lacey arrived by riding on her current horse, by herself, with the wind blowing her long lace veil and gown behind her. It was spectacular and moving, (I cried). The whole Bridal party faced the guests to say their vows, which was very different and enjoyable . Then the Guests moved back to the Front Lawn to enjoy cocktails, before the dinner and dance, and were again greeted by members of the band, who would stroll around playing for the guests. Lacey and Curtis are so perfect together, they should be very happy in their new home ( a 1910 Post office, in Southern Manitoba, with 75 cows, and 400 acres). Lacey had earlier taken me through her sister Brandy's new home, and said that Brandy's master Bedroom was bigger than Lacey's whole house, but that she loved the old post office. It was a fantastic, teary yet joyful week, and wish them all the best in their new life's together.
