Summer Winds

The lake breeze is beautiful on a hot summer day, and so calming at nite when the waves break on the shore. But the waves also cause damage to the shore, docks and boats in the water. We are fortunate that the passing winds only littered our shore with logs, fish, and even a bird. Our neighbour had to stay on his dock to hold it down against the waves, while another neighbour had his boat and dock hit by a loose unmanned house boat that broke loose! It happened around 6pm, after another extremely hot day in the low 40's celcius. So it was back to the raking for Me!

I often notice all the boats that venture by, coming in the bay to look at the houses on shore, I imagine that they think the 'ole lady racking the beach, in the faded, worn clothes, and the old guy holding the firehose from the lake, are the caretakers. (How right they are! ) I have noticed that since we have retired, we are always busy doing something in the yard, or house, and have little time to actually golf, or shop or any of those other "retired" things! And, we love it! (Well, except when it is just to hot to work outside!)
