Early yesterday am, we were out watering the grass, pulling weeds - summer stuff. Then at about 11:30am the winds picked up from the north - bringing in the smoke and ash from westbank! Later the same day big rain came and actually helped with the fire control.
This day we are blue skies with only a little of the lingering smoke over the lake. Although I love the smell of a campfire - I think I have had enough for a while!
The firefighters did a great job, and are still working but they have reached about 80% containment on the Glenrosa fire, and about 70% on the RoseValley (I think the lake is down about a foot!)
